Default Accident with 1600 miles

My brand new 2015 is250 f-sport was hit lightly in a parking lot, not my fault guy backed into me

light front end damage, cracked grill scuffed emblem and bumper

the most concerning thing is the whole front end assembly is out of alignment and there is now a gap between the hood and the grill large enough that the rubber gasket is visible along the whole length, and upon further inspection the inner air ducts in the lower cover are out of alignment with the bumper cover as well

the leading edge of the hood has some paint missing as well, you can hardly notice this but I'm concerned with corrosion

would you guys recomend dealer or a high end bodyshop

Most Lexus dealers outsource bodywork. The only reason I'd choose a dealer is to have the ability to hang the customer satisfaction survey over their heads if any part of the work isn't up to your satisfaction.

I love the front of my IS. and for this reason alone i park the front of my car into the space. sure i love to have it facing out.. but when someone backs up into it such as your case, there are more things to go wrong (grill, surrounding, lights, alignment, bumper, etc), where as the rear bumper is only the rear bumper. sorry to hear about your incident though. hope damage won't be too bad underneath.

Dealers don't have body shop. Ask your friends around you and find a good body shop to repair it.

The bodyshops don't always suck. I had my S2k repaired at a place that works on classic hotrods. They even re-rolled my fender and put the more aggresive street driving alignment I wanted. You are given choices on bodyshops, and should still be able to pick your own. If you go with the insurance one, check out what kinds of cars the place is working on. Ask the Lexus dealer if they recommend anyone as well.

I hate parking lots, and have been trying to park on the street more.

I actually ran into the same incident where i was in a parking lot, and a lady with a white camry backed into my driver side fender/bumper area. bumper was scuffed, headlight was tilted downwards, fender was bent and DRL didn't work. However I had insurance and was full covered, but i think it took the shop a few thousand dollars to fix it and still had some insurance money left for a tint job. Definitely take it a well reviewed shop instead of the dealer in my opinion. Dealers will probably over charge you!
