Lightbulb Problems with IS?

Hi all:

I'm a new owner of a 2015 IS 350 fsport and new to ClubLex. Car has about 2500 miles on it now.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems with their IS or with any Lexus for that matter:

1. All 4 doorhandles leak oil or grease that leaves a streak on the exterior under each handle (the oil streaks appeared on a really humid/hot day. Not sure if the temperature was a factor).

2. Pre-Collision system (PCS) went off (i.e. "Brake" warning was flashing on the dash) for no reason while I was driving about 40 mph. No cars were in front of me. I was cruising on a straight road. Also, I wasn't on a narrow bridge or near iron when PCS went off.

Hope to get your thoughts!

Yes the PCS will make false alerts some times. I think it's OK.

Phew. Ok, i thought i was the only one.

But has anyone experienced the oil leaks from the door handles? I've seen it on a Lexus NX and a toyota corolla.

Never saw oil leaks from the door handles. Did you rust proof your car? Else, the dealer may have excessively lubed your doors, hinges, etc at your servicing and thinning in viscosity with the heat.

Hmmmm, I'd take it back to your Lexus dealer to check out that PCS incident you had. As for the door handles, never had that problem. However, I had a different problem with door handle being too stiff when pulling on them.

Ah this makes alot of sense! Do dealers normally oil the door handles prior to delivering a new car?

The Problem with the leaks should be Cosmoline!!!
I had that same thing happen with my Brand New Mini.
It would leak out when the Weather was Hot and if not cleaned immediately it would cause a stain.

Yikes! I immediately sprayed and wiped it off. Thank goodness I noticed it right away!

Can't say much here. I only had mine for 300 miles. So far I have neither of the problem.

Good to know. I drove the car again today and the PCS seems fine. I haven't had a false positive all
day!

Cosmoline - in the 21st century? Only if a hack (or a really aggressive finance manager at the stealership....) saw you coming. I don't think it's been used in consumer vehicles for decades.

When I purchased my Mini New in 2011 that's what they were known for having.
