Default Part # request please...

Today after work on the way home, some lowlife hating ****h3Ad shot at me with a pellet gun/bb gun. I think it was some loser randomly targeting oncoming cars and it struck my car. Luckily it didnt strike anywhere else (the window or body) but the rear passenger chrome window trim (whew!!). This was while driving on a big busy street during rush hour traffic, I heard a loud BOOM sound, sounded like someone threw a soda can at my car. I got home and tried to push the dent back out but it looks like it'll be a permanent dent about dime size. Playing with the peice, it acutally popped out and is replaceable. Now Ijust need to find the part number for it. If anyone can guide me to a source where I can find the part number or where to pick this peice up for a discounted price, that would def be a bigg help. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that. I don't have the part# but just happened to read the Repair Manual from the Toyota TIS (Technical Information System) about the rear door.

The part you are looking for is called "REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY". And in order to replace it, you have to remove the door trim in order to access the back of the moulding.

Besides, you may have to remove the actual window as some portion of the window (when the window is lowered) is blocking one clip/claw of the moulding. There are 4 claws and 2 guides for the moulding, according to the repair manual.

Thank you for the reponse, it's much appreciated. I'll search up on the rear door moulding. The piece that was damaged actually snaps right off with a little of force, it clips on the door. Thank you again

Luckily it wasn't the top chrome trim piece. I'm going to replace the top piece on my driver's side door this weekend and it doesn't simply pop out. It's mounted with 3M adhesive and rivets, which have to be drilled out...

Sorry to hear, may I ask the reason why you're replacing?

I was driving on the freeway and a sharp piece of road debris hit my car right on the top chrome trim. It put a reasonable size scratch on the chrome and took a really small piece of the connecting black rubber off too. It's really not that bad, but it bothers me and the part is relatively inexpensive.

Just wanted to say thanks again to cp2 for the part number. Thanks to "Kenny" from Wesminster Lexus for rush ordering me the part that came in same day within a few hours, on top of that gave me a discount. Much appreciated Kenny. Can't wait to get home and install, the dent has been an eyesore for me. Back to normal!!!!
