Question Oil/filter recommendations.

Hi gentlemens.
I checked the threads but didn't find the answers. I got Lexus IS 250 awd (fsport). It's almost the time to change my oil. (3time)

What is better: Royal purple 0W-20 or Mobile-1 0W-20. I can not decide which one is better.
The price for Royal is more expensive. (very good feedbacks!!) I don't want to use Lexus oil/and filter I think I can find better than stock. What kind of oil filter you recommend guys ?

My apologies for any inconvenience
Best Regards
Avi

What's wrong with the Toyota/Lexus filters? they are good quality and even the oil nuts on bobistheoilguy use them. as for oil, the toyota synthetic oil is also fine. I use mobil 1 for all my oil changes, with the exception of one time where i used valvoline synthetic which is also good as well

mobile 1 and Castrol synthetics are what I've used in the past. really good products. purple heart I great too if you have the money to spend on it. as far as filters, nothing wrong with Toyota/lexus filters.

Not sure where you can get Eneos oil, it's a JDM oil company and not sure if they export to the US. edit: ah i see that there are some NAPA auto parts that carry eneos oil.

I do know that 0w-50 is not the specified weight oil for our vehicles however

You do not want to use any ?w50 weight oil in your car. The engine clearances are designed for a thinner viscosity at operating temperature range. Here in SoCA I use 5w30 Castrol Syntec full syntetic based on expert advice for late model Porsches. Wix makes the best filters.

Forgot to mention change oil every 5,000 miles

At my latest oil change I decided to move from the Toyota Genuine (Euro market, made by Mobil in the EU) 0W30 to the premium JDM Idemitsu Zepro Eco Medalist 0W20. According to the independent Russian laboratory analysis of the fresh and used samples this oil is one of the best 0W20s available alongside JDM Toyota Genuine and Motul 8100 Eco-Lite. I've driven about 4000 km on this oil and noticed that the engine run became more quiet and smooth. By the way Idemitsu produces the factory filled oils for Toyota/Lexus plants located in Japan.
