I've noticed that some 3IS headlights have 2 projectors, and others have 1.
Does anyone know why ? Seems like the the 3IS from Canada only have 1 projector and the 3IS from American has 2.

The 1 projector headlight is a HID bulb for low beam and traditional bulb for high beam. The 2 projector setup uses LED's for both high beam and low beam.

Actually in the case of 1 projector headlight which is HID, it uses the same HID for low and high beam in 3IS (i.e., bi-xenon)Originally Posted by spolski

This is the difference among 2IS and 3IS. 2IS uses HID for low beam and uses HID+traditional halogen bulb for high beam (when high beam is engaged, the HID opens the "lens" fully and hence that's where it gets the name, bi-xenon)
Oh that's neat, I never knew the 2 projector setup was led. Does anyone know why for us up north it's a hid setup versus led for our neighbors south of the border.
