Default Brake Caliper Painting

Hey guys im thinking about painting my brake calipers and was wondering if any of you have any recommendations regarding what paint brands I should choose.

Ive seen many cars who have done their own brake caliper painting and it seems as if a lot of them have had their paint fade and it looks ridiculous. How do I prevent this from happening? Proper preparation? More coats? Add a clear coat on top?

How are your calipers CL?

Also, I've got an Ultrasonic blue car and was thinking maybe a yellow or orange colour for my calipers. How does that sound?

Hi CP2,

What colour do you think I should paint my brake calipers?

I think you should paint them what ever color you like. but if you truly want my opinion for a blue car, I do like your idea for yellow. If you think red is played out and want to go conservative, you could also go silver or black. just don't paint it blue, cause it may look washed out. also, what color rims do you have or planning to get? that might help you in deciding what color to choose.

and if you the decals after paint, here you go:

Gold or yellow match Ultrasonic blue with no problem. Orange is close to yellow, so I think it will be fine, too. Red would work on almost all color of cars. Just don't do the same color as you rim if you want them to stand out.

Thanks for the input guys. I really don't want to do a red colour purely because nearly all cars have their brake calipers painted red.
I was looking at a few cars and really do think that the yellow stands out with blue paint.
Here are some pics:

I'm going to stick with the stock F sport wheels. What brand of brake caliper paint were you thinking of getting? Are they usually all around the same quality?

Red to go with the tail lights if you aren't darkening them. Nice and glossy. <br/>If want them to POP... add a decal to them.

I'm not offended at all.
My car is sweet

Just understand if you have too many colors on a car.... looks tacky.
Don't go too bold on your calipers, it's a lexus not a Ferrari. Our calipers aren't pretty -- but whatever.

Yellow will be more special as the GSF will use orange.

yes. you just have to bag and mask everything off. only issue you may/may not have is that the paint may not be even. but you only see the side that faces outward so that's all that matters to some.
