Probably all season. If I could get away with a CHEAP 18" wheel with studded tires, I would go with a set of summer tires.
I don't think I can get anything cheap, since I need staggered.

Depends where you shop, but there are some pretty cheap 18's out there. DWS's are probably the best all season for actual winter conditions while maintaining some decent dry grip.
I ran 245/45/18's on a G35x and they just seemed to have way to soft of sidewalls for any aggressive driving.

I choose the Michelin for noise, and I took a quick poll of some of the other guys here. We're unanimous in that decision. It's a tight race between the two, but the Michelin edges out the Continental.

Michelin PS2 or PSS for long term quietness. I've always found that the Continental (I've had the CS, CS2, CS3, and also DWS and DW on previous cars) to increase in noise levels more so than PS2's or PSS, which are more consistent throughout the tire life.
I agree with someone stating the DWS's are squirmy, they are...the sidewall isn't stiff enough to be a true performance tire, however they do good as an all-season performance tire.
