It's happened to me twice since I got the 2015 3IS in December. While driving, all the buttons on center console and steering wheel lost control (ie. no audio on/off, no volume adjustment, no switching media source or radio stations, etc.) Not only the media functions were lost, I couldn't move the cursor to perform other functions on screen either. Both times happened while driving. When the car first started, everything was fine. I had to re-start the car at the red light for everything to resume back to normal.
Is this a software update issue? The car was driving fine. Nothing raised the concern for safety, but I don't really know for sure.
I've had this happen a couple times as well where all the controls and even the navigation freezes mid route. I spoke with Lexus and found out that when it does this you can hold down the power button to the stereo to turn it off, and then turn it on again. This will reset everything and get it to work again. I'm not sure how common this problem is, but it's only happened twice so I'm not too concerned. I think of it like your phone or computer freezing from time to time and just needs a reboot.

That's good to know. I will keep it in mind for the future, even though I hope it doesn't happen again. I thought there could be a software update that I missed.
Happened to me once when I clicked the home button too soon (literally one second after a cold start). Everything in the infotainment was frozen. Had an idea to put the car in reverse (to trigger the back up camera), which promptly triggered a soft reboot and everything was normal again.
