Question Clear film? What's it called?

What's the clear film that folks on here recommend for the IS? I heard they're especially recommended for ultra white exteriors.

Also, what's the best way to find a reputable shop? I've always found tint shops shady and would put more weight on a recommendation from this forum. I live in Austin, TX if that's any help.

There's a lot of names for it, including different brands. Clear film, clear bra, X-pel Bra, paint protection film, etc.

I suggest you go on yelp.com and do some research using the above keywords. Talk to your dealership to see if they can help you find an installer.

Found some places for you.

I agree. In regards to Xpel, the dealer needs to be authorized, so the likelihood of a shady establishment completing the work may be lessened. I have Xpel Ultimate PPF on the bumper, full hood, full fenders, and both mirrors of my Obsidian IS350 F-Sport. It was a bit $$$, but totally worth the reassurance of the front end being completely protected from rock chips, bugs, etc. Plus, it's a self-healing film w/ a 10 year warranty (film/labor). Not too shabby.
