Default Lexus Owner Research Study Email

Anyone get this study email? This is a 2.5 hour in-home and in-car research interview seems shady to me. Anyone know if this is legitimate?

I just got it and I'm in the NYC area. Deleted it since I don't trust it.

This is exactly why I refused to give my e-mail to the dealer or to Lexus corporate. I don't take surveys under ANY conditions paid or not.

Park Place Lexus in the Dallas Fort Worth area does this type of thing. They called my home phone and spoke to my father, asking him to come to Dallas and participate in a survey like the one described. He was compensated close to $300 for his time just to go talk about the car I purchased. It may not be a scam, go check it out.

Matrix is a legit market research company.

I did something similar when I bought my '13 Mustang GT and got $1,500 out of it. Seriously

Default Intrigued too

I received the same letter.

I love cars and talking abut them, so I'd probably enjoy doing a survey like this. And $350 for 2.5 hours of work is nice too.

But my big turn off is this key requirement stated in the letter:
Respondents will need to submit photos of their automobile, outside of home or apartment, inside of home and household family members before being accepted to the study.
They can ask me anything. They can take pictures of me, my car, and the outside of my home. But I'm definitely not comfortable with them taking pictures inside my home or of my children.

If it wasn't for that, I'd do it right away.

Take a picture of your neighbor's house and kids.

Agree, this is what I find shady.

Default Confused

So just to clarify, as enthusiasts who are passionate about the brand you don't want to give input on how future models turn out?

Toyota/ Lexus reaches out to you and offers you hundreds of dollars to do this and it's a waste of your time... To me you should want to go to this style of event. Better you than someone who doesn't really care about the brand and gives feedback that hurts instead of helps.
