My is350 is padded as well but in black NuLux material. If that area is the same color as the seats in the RC350, it would be a mod that I would consider, especially having NuLux that sweeps backwards towards the rear of the console as opposed to the painted plastic aluminum. That arm rest looks good as well.
I recall when I sat in a non-nav is250 that it was hard hollow plastic though...
Also, I know some have complained of our mouse being flimsy (especially magazines, because they apparently are too dumb to figure out the resistance can be changed to be quite a solid feeling unit), but the location of it being on the right side of the shifter is ergonomically friendly because I can just extend my arm, rest my hand on that soft pad and control the mouse, it looks like in the RC models, they moved it directly behind the shifter which would make for non-ergonomically friendly and awkward hand/arm movement and gestures unless you have VERY short arms (I'm 5'7" so I'm not a big guy myself).
Yes, I would like to replace both the silver plastic side piece, and the black piece (which in my base IS350 is not upholstered) with fully upholstered pieces preferably in the interior color.
I cant tell from the photos if these are still two separate pieces (both padded) or if it is now one continuous piece.
I've also asked Sewell if the RC350 parts will fit in our cars, but they might not know without somebody trying it first. I haven't heard from them yet. I am willing to buy the parts and try it if Sewell will allow me to return them if they don't fit and are undamaged.
