Cleaning side clear bra
Hello guys,
Like everyone here, the side clear bra on the rear doors are a pain in the bu** to clean and they are always dirty. I had mines completely black the border was very very noticeable thanks to the break dust, removing them to me was not an option since i did not want to have paint chips. so yesterday I tried cleaning them and I used degreaser with water and sprayed them with the mix, i left it there for like 5 min or so and then with m finger tip removed all the dust it had, now they look like i just go the car out of the dealer. I will post pictures of after, because i did not take the before ones, but again they were very very black. I have a IS350 with 6k miles so you could imagine hoe they were and I have the white pearl color.
Hope this works ill post pics later if you guys want.
And btw it did not do anything to the paint whatsoever.

Around the edge of the clear bra material, you can use 3M adhesive remover to remove the left over adhesive that is also trapping the dirt on the edges.
Since the clear bra material is a porous material, it does need to be cleaned and / or polished and waxed. That way the material stays hydrated and looking fresh for years.
I had to take 3M to the edges of the door edge trim, rear doors and trunk. Now you can barely tell the film is there, which is the way it should look.

On detailers forums they recommend a product called Plexus which is a product specifically designed to clean/polish/protect plastic in one step. Evidently it is used for cleaning and polishing the plastic canopy on fighter jets. I purchased a can and it does work but it's quite pricey. It is however very easy to use. Simply spray it on and wipe off.

Hellos guys, here are both pictures, I dont think you can see if very well, but anyways thats the purpose, that you dont see the bra, and the q-tip is a great idea ill spray and do it with the q-tip instead of my fingertip lol
I used regular degreaser and I mixed it with water like a 50 50, If you want you can do more water, but my dad said that deagreaser will not do anything to the paint.
Good luck. I hope it works, if any of you do it let me know the results.
