Default Thoughts on this price please!!!

Hello all,

I'm looking to get a 2014 IS250 rwd, nebula gray, black interior base model with fsport package and backup camera. msrp is about 40k but i got quoted at 37.9k before taxes/titles/fees.

the car is gonna built and shipped since they have none anywhere close to me. granted im in NJ so all they sell up here is awd.

thanks!

I think you should pay $3k more and get the 350, why do people waste time with a 250 when they are virtually the same price within a few k? MPG ? they are so close in price it doesn't make any sense to buy a 250.

^^ probably because some people have either differing priorities, e.g. no practical need for a 350, or those extra several thousand add on a (relatively) significant amount to a financed payment that are unaffordable for some (many?) who are entering the entry-level luxury market.

When I got my car, the 350 was $5,000 more which is a lot. That was another $100/month.

^^ I got the 250F for this reason. I bought my 250F for $41k OTD ($38k sticker). Definitely negotiate Out The Door pricing, because dealers are notorious for jacking up stupid dealership fees, especially for luxury cars.

Thanks guys. The reason im not getting a 350 is it would put me way out of my budget, this is kinda stretching it already. and im working negotiation right now. got it at about 38k sticker right now.

My sticker was 42K and change but I got it down to 39K and this was when the car first came out. You can probably get another 1K knocked off if you try.

I appreciate it. I think imma offer 38.5k OTD and see where it goes from there. Sounds pretty crazy but maybe ill find a dealer who can do that price. my cap is about 40.5k

When i was car shopping a similarly equipped 350 it was gonna be $6,000 more. I was car shopping from September-December of last year and both 350's and 250's with red interior were selling in 24 hours of them appearing on the lot in the northeast. To get a 350 with red interior you had to pay MSRP.

I got my IS250 AWD with F Sport black/red for 39.5k before TTL but with the college grad rebate, So 37.9k is about right because its RWD. You might be able to get a couple hundred more knocked off but because its a special order you do lose some bargaining power.
