I have read that the IS (or at least some versions of it) pump engine noise into the cabin during hard acceleration. Is this on all models or just F-Sport?

I believe all models have that. It's a really nice feature especially when you have an aftermarket air intake which makes the sound deeper. I bought a GReddy one and driving in sport mode listening to the sound is amazing!! Highly reccomend it

 

I thought it was just the f sport? (intake sound generator)

sounds really, really good.. I dont miss the f sport intake on my 2IS - put it that way.

 

Its only on the F sport

 

All 350s have it, but only the F-Sport 250's.

 

Thanks for the responses. So is this considered to be the most accurate response? I have an IS350 AWD (non F-Sport). I have not had many WOT incursions, but I don't recall very much in the way of engine noise during hard acceleration...

its on the intake pipe, theres a little trumpet thing on the side of it

 

Yea it's that short curved part beside the intake pipe. So if you have a Greddy intake (I have Greddy as well)... You don't have the sound generator anymore because that piece comes off with the stock intake. The sound the Greddy makes is purely the intake and no artificial sound generation. At least that's how I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong.
