Default Oil Change

I'm almost getting to the 5,000 mile mark. I have about 4,700+ miles on it and i'm already getting the service maintenance light.
What oil did you guys go with?
What is the best to go with?
I also plan on taking it to the dealership instead of an oil change place around here.
Also, too lazy to check the manual :P
I'd like to be more social with the CL folks anyways! BOND TIME!

I believe the 5000 mile maint. does not include an oil change, oil changes start at 10,000 miles.

WINNNNERRRR!!!! you are correct sir.
5k is just for routine checkups (e.g., air pressure, oil level, other fluid levels, etc.). 10k is the first oil change and every 10k thereafter.

personally, i'm still going to change it at every 7500-8k miles.

Yeah I would just reset the light yourself but since the first two are free just bring it in and let them check it then from then on change oil every 10K, I agree with AdvanSLF change around 7500K-8K if you want to be safe.

its easy to get 10k on synthetic. I run that interval on all the family cars and have done oil analysis to show they can go 10k

Toyota/Lexus have been using this OCI for a few years now on their vehicles specified for synthetic oil.

Personally I am changing the oil at 5k, 10k, 20k, 30k... The oil filter should catch any break-in debris but I don't mind a few extra bucks / splitting the oil change interval in half for the first maintenance. Note that severe service maintenance for our cars is 5k anyway, and though I'm not driving in particulary dusty conditions, there could be extra particles from break-in just the same.

I'll use a genuine OEM filter, and Toyota Genuine Synethetic 0w-20. The oil has very good reviews on BITOG.
