Anyone using voice command know how to disable the computers initial response?(before the beep).

I'm trying to just get the beep right after i click the voice command button.

 

Try pressing the speak button 2x, it will skip the initial response i believe.

 

If you click the voice command button once, the main nav screen will change to the voice command screen. Then, you can use the "mouse" to enter the settings menu (I think it's just a cog in the lower left corner). There is an option that disables the voice prompt somewhere in there.

Be aware that it will no longer give you much guidance on how to use the system if you disable it, so it might be worth getting used to everything first if you're new to the car. However, it does make things much quicker to access such as entering an address.

 

Can't I simply just enable it?

 

Yeah you can always reenable it if it gets too cryptic. After I disabled it, I got confused more than once when I wasn't sure what kind of response it was expecting (yes/no, etc.). However, you can usually look at the nav screen for some hints about the current voice commands, but then you have to take your eyes off the road.
