I only get the thumbs up from motorcyclist on the road. Aside from the my car usually just gets the wide eyed stares and faces haha

 

My front windows are tinted. Even if I wave you cant see me. LOL

 

My car gets so many looks while driving and more when parked. Two weeks ago I went to the mall and came back to my ride and found a big forehead print right on my driver side window...Made me laugh but to who ever got that close was a little too close to my "Snow Bunny"..... You can look but don't touch

 

I don't do it in the IS, I think probably other IS owners might think I'm crazy or something because most of them are just regular people who just got the car because they liked it and are not car enthusiasts. When I'm on my Z though, it's a different story. Usually if I see another Z (mostly the same body style as mine, Z32) I flash the high beams and give them a nod and almost every time I get the same response from them.

 

I can relate when I had my '91 MR2 for several years.

You have one of the best Japanese sports cars of its time so someone who has one in tip-top shape 20+ years later is likely an enthusiast!

I am not one to jump to waving at some random person though. Although, if one were to wave at me, I would wave back. They way I see it, most of the 3IS drivers out there scan my car up and down as if saying, "My 3IS is better than your 3IS." Well, that has been my experience thus far.

Funny you mention this. I use to work at a MINI dealer and they actually have a full NOOB guide to MINI where you touch the top of your roof when you pass another MINI to show you are taking your hat off to say hi.

I don't see any IS around where I drive.

 

I don't wave at them…. well i live in Vegas and there's only a handful of 3is in this city… but even if i see one i get angry and scream NOOOOOOO!!!!! haha. i want to be the only one to have the 3is in this city! haha

 

STi/WRX drivers wave at each other. Even exchanged some "shakas" with Evos, Legacy GTs and Forester XTs.

 

So far I've seen five 2014s on the road, one that was parked. None of the other drivers waived or flashed lights, but I wasn't really looking for them to do so.

Funny thing today... got a thumbs-up from a BMW driver. Didn't expect that.

 

He was probably just on his way to the dealer to trade it in for his new 3IS

 

3IS will be as common as the 3 series very soon, and it's usually women in IS250s so it'd be pretty creepy to wave. They might think you're trying to "holler" at them.
