Noticed some of the ***** on the 3IS radio are white and some are metallic (don't have mine yet). Do different trims have different colored *****?? I remember them being metallic during my test drives.

White makes it looks kinda cheap.. hopefully you can replace white w/metallic..

HMM.. Maybe the F sport model has the black/chrome ***** and the non-F gets white?

 

I think it's whether you have Mark Levinson or not. I have an ML equipped F-Sport, and it has white *****, not metallic.

The ML ***** are not bad though. They are not flat white, but more of a silvery-white with a rough, grippy, textured finish.

 

That's probably it. ML probably has white *****. Glad to hear they're not bad. Kinda sticks out no??

 

It looks kinda cheap in my option, the metallic ***** look better. But from the pictures, the plastic ***** look easier to grip than the metal ones. It mushrooms out at the top, for me I find that better than flat sided *****.

It makes me sad every time I see an F-sport with ventilated seats...

There are a lot of variations between models. The audio power button symbol, the home button, the pics for the air bags, and the side of the infotainment console is hard plastic for the non-ML version.

 

Can you pull the ***** off and interchange white ones with brushed aluminum ones??

 

Are you sure that ML **** picture is US version? There are lot of differences with airbag lights next to hazard button too between the two pictures.

 

To add on to what I said before, I think the white ***** are supposed to reflect the other Mark Levinson products. It looks like both preamps sold by ML have the same color ***** and mushroom-style top.

its ceramic, not just white....

 

The ML ***** feels super expensive.....like the high end audio equipment it is. Love mine. So do my passengers. They get to touch cheap plastic ***** on their cars lol

 

Really? Of everything on the infotainment console I feel those ***** are the cheapest looking thing there.

 

How many of you that think they look cheap have actually seen these ***** in real life? Not just in pictures?
The texture and feel of the ***** makes them look and feel high end. But this does not show in pictures.

 

I have the Mark Levinson and the ***** are extremely nice. I do not think they look cheap at all in person.

 

They don't look or feel cheap at all. I have them in my ML IS350. They are a very similar color to the top of the shift **** but look more out of place than the non ML ***** that match the mode selector in color and appearance. I didn't even notice this until my girl picked up a non ML 250 this past week.
