burning rubber smell when driving on freeway

I have IS350 F-Sport package and I had that burning smell when the car was brand new. I asked the salesman from the dealership who drove my old car back to my home (the car I drove to the dealership) as he noticed the smell too and he explained that this is due to the protective coating the factory sprayed in the engine bay on the brand new cars. The salesman explained the smell would go off eventually. I now have 2,200 miles on the car and I don't have that smell any more. I believe your smell would go away soon.

Burnt smell 2008 is 250
Hay, this is my first post so I'll try my best to put as much info as posible. I just got a used 2008 IS 250 awd 109k and it runs like new. I love my IS. but when I go on a little road trip 30 or 40 min on the freeway nothing special but at times I get a burnt smell in the cabin especial when I stop the car or get off the freeway. I go to every wheel and the engine to see if I can find the source but no luck. Oh and I live in CT so it's very cold here I haven't had the chance to drive it in the summer. Any idea's
