Mine had the new gateway ECU too but the battery still drained when I didn't use the car for a week. This time they replaced the battery because they said it was frozen (this was during we had a stretch of sub zero temps). Car is stored in an unheated garage.

So far so good. But I have been making sure to start the car at least once a week if I'm not using it. I also have been using the door switch instead of the remote to lock the car.
So not sure if the problem is totally gone or it's just the above practices mitigating it.

Getting my first taste of this battery drain phenomenon.

Literally had my car at the dealership for its 30k service 3-4 days ago, and now my battery is dead. Interestingly, they neglected to perform the "Check Battery Performance" portion of the vehicle's report card.

Sad day. Luckily it's still under the original warranty I guess.

Got an update on my case

So it turns out that I had a faulty amp on one of my customer vehicles.

I was also able to duplicate the issue. If I lock the car using the remote over night the car will die the next morning. Normally, I lock the car using the handle. My car is garage kept and the key is one floor up from the garage. Concrete floor! But apparently the range is enough for the car to be talking to the remote. Either that or the car is stupid and kept pinging the remote. Who knows. But locking using the remote will drain the battery. It’s too bad it took almost 4 years to finally be able to consistently repeat it.
Wow very interesting, I will have to test this.

So is this battery drain issue still affecting 2017 and 2018 models?

Actually, its only 2014 models. The TSB refers to those specifically and its very rare for 2015s to have the same battery issues (i believe the part that was causing the issue was replaced in the 2015s).

Canadian TSB applies to 2015 models with in the VIN spec.

Just had my 2014 battery die on me. Battery was less than a year old. I took it to the dealer and they confirmed the Gateway ECU was drawing power and will replace with the new PN per the LSB. My car was in the VIN range and has BSM.

Has anyone had the issue continue after replacement with new ECU?

Can I purchase the correct part number for Network Gateway ECU (89100-30160) and replace this myself? Do I need to do anything to program the car to accept the replacement Gateway ECU? My car is past warranty and even with a new battery, the car won't start if I let it sit idle for more than 2 days.

The replacement looks fairly straight forward, just wondering if anyone has done this themselves on an 14-15 IS. Looks like its been done DIY successfully on a GS. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ery-drain.html
