I was getting the same issues as most of you guys were getting with the rebooting and slowness Navigation. The 1st month it kept rebooting and even on one long trip the Navi froze while guiding me to my destination. As time went along it got better and better. I saw from this same thread when it began that the dealers had a updated firmware that would fix the issues. Once i took my car in for 6k services I asked the guy at Lexus dealer to upgrade me to the newest firmware and he said that there was no reason for me to update it if my Navigation was not slow nor rebooting like before. So I left the same firmware i had and so far no issues like the 1st 4 weeks i had the car. Still not sure if I should of gotten the update even though my Navigation is all good with no problems.

So wtih 8500 things were better until I got smart and burned my 8GB itunes library on to a mini USB stick. The system did not like having USB/iPod/bluetooth music available all at once. I've since pulled the USB music and things seem better. Worst case with the USB stick in was a complete freeze of the system at the "Continue" screen which needed a power cycle to recover from. Since pulling the USB I'm still seeing some slow episodes but nothing terrible and they seem to be pushing out updates quickly. I do notice the choppy nav screen updates now, perhaps better to stay off the forums so you aren't sensitized to these issues ;-)

Mine with 8400 worked fine for the first 2 months I had it, and then two re-boots in the last week...

Even with the 8500 Update, i'm disappointed about how slow the interface runs. It's 2014 for god sakes!

I've been on the 8500 firmware for about a month now. As I posted before, it's better, but I still get the occassional reboot with bluetooth connected. And yesterday it did the complete lockup thing (radio playing, but can't adjust volume or change stations).

Here's the log I've kept since the beginning of October.

10/7/13 Update 8400 applied
10/8/13 connection issues with Enform app
10/9/13 connection issues with Enform app
10/11/13 6:30 am, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing. Car just started.
10/12/13 1:15pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing.
10/12/13 6:30pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing.
10/14/13 11:12am, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. FM Radio playing.
10/15/13 Update 8500 applied.
10/22/13 4:30pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing.
10/25/13 6:55am, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing.
10/31/13 12:45pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. FM Radio playing.
10/31/13 1:20pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. FM Radio playing.
11/4/13 10:30am, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. Pandora playing.

11/8/13 4:40pm, System restarted. Bluetooth connected. FM Radio playing.
11/10/13 1:20pm, System locked up. FM Radio playing, no Bluetooth connections. All controls unresponsive. Nav map still displayed motion.

I got my car back from Lexus Services about a week ago, having been kept for a week in the shop.

My Nav Update went from 8300 to 8500, I'm not gonna lie but I don't notice a difference.
The only difference I noticed was the "Caution" Warning upon ignition.

One thing that still hasn't been fixed is the iPod/iPhone 5s interface.

1. The coverart doesn't show anything but this "Soul" image on every song I play.
Mind you, I don't have a single "Soul" track in my iPod or iPhone 5s.

2. Using an updated iPhone 5s, along with the latest firmware update in the Lexus IS350.
I'll get the stupid "iPod error" every time. This happens when I use an iPod, iPhone 5s or my iPad Air.
The error pops up every 1-2 songs, then you'll have to unplug the Lightening Cable > Resync > Select iDevice onScreen > Press Play.

3. There is a huge delay when starting your car, at least a minute to 2 minutes before you can use the interface.
By that time, the Sat/Radio is already playing for at least a minute.

I've dropped my car off for service at least 5 times already and every time it hasn't improved anything.

Another reason why I want to lease since this first year navi has sooo many issues. Especially as an iOS user...

5 times!? Different dealers!? Are they acknowleding the problem(s)? Have you had other issues? I've brought mine in once (so far), and the master tech stated he did not see a delay, even though it was obvious; not cool.

I just checked today and I'm running version 8400. In two weeks, I've had one reboot and the very occasional blue screen flash. I'm only using BT for voice and audio with an iPhone 5. I'll probably wait until my 5k service before taking the time to go get a software update unless one comes out that greatly improves system speed. Luckily, I haven't had to use my nav very often and the audio system still sounds great via BT, but I really hope Lexus or Denso or whoever gets their code better optimized.

They acknowledged the issue, said they tested it and works.

But to the general public, through my experience after 10 minutes of picking up my car I cringed when I saw that awful ipod error again.

Sad thing is, my biggest concern was my driver side door.
When I roll up the window it makes a loud grinding sound like something is stuck between the gears.

They said they took it apart, checked the motor and everything checks out.
The consultant did mention that they opened a case for a potential "Recall" on the driver side power windows.

Regardless, the audio/nav issue still remains and it's getting very annoying.

Surprised there isn't much traction for a fix yet.

Anyone hear anything from their dealer?

Master Tech at my dealer wasn't too friendly.

Love the car but the navigation system sucks, wishing that I didn't pay extra for it. I hope we're not all holding our breath for the navigation slowness to ever go away, every page is slow, not just here and there, so I suspect there is some fundamental flaw with the software architecture and/or hardware.
