How long has it taken to receive your baby? I have been reading also that members have been able to track their orders online and some have received a VIN number. How soon were you able to start tracking your order? I ordered on 8/1 and Lexus dealer said he would get back to me about tracking my order. So excited about this car but the waiting part sucks!! All I can do is to keep looking at pics and following posts on this forum. Currently living vicariously through some of you lucky folks!!!

 

I know the feeling. For me, 3 months and seems to be about the norm in N. America. I ordered June 4th, and getting it by Aug 30th. It's long but this forum has helped ease the pain. Next thing you know, the time will have passed. Congratulations!

 

i'm in ontario canada and i ordered my IS350 AWD ON June 1st. i reveived it on wednesday and couldn't be happier.

I believe you have 15% tints front and no issues driving on our roads? Can you post pics here or in the tint thread? Thanks!

 

i would have had it sooner but what actually happened what i changed my mind and wanted to switch to RWD so my order was cancelled. Well after thinking for a day i decided to stick with my original order or is350 awd executive pkg. anyway long story short because of my indecisiveness i had to wait a bit longer.

yes i have 15% on the front windows and 5% on all the back windows. No problems at all, usually if i see a cop ill put the windows down lol. I've had the same on all my previous cars and no problems with cops knock on wood. i'll get some pics tomorrow for you.

 

Lexus does not have online tracking. They are actually quite lacking in their communication of special orders. I ordered May 17 and still no information as to the status.

 

Does anybody know if special ordering includes special colors? I'm very interested in Ultrasonic Blue but it doesn't appear to be an option for the US. Canada seems to get it, but not us. =/

 

Special Orders in the US are still limited to what is available in the US as a whole. For example, you cannot order an F-Sport with fog lights because they are not offered here although they are offered in other countries. Do not let the special order connotation throw you off. A special order is not a custom order with Lexus. It is just ordering a vehicle that may not come into allocation in your region otherwise.
I had to order mine because in the Eastern Region we see almost all come in as AWD and I wanted RWD. Couple that with all of the options for F-Sport and it turned into a special order even though RWD vehicles are stocked elsewhere in the country.

 

That's a shame. I'm coming from BMW, which pretty much lets you build and order any combination of anything that you want, including special colors. I'm gonna really PO'ed if I get my 2014 in gray or white and in 2015 the amazing Ultrasonic Blue comes available.

 

Special ordered (meaning not on the lot or on the list of future deliveries to the dealer) black w/gray interior RWD 350 on August 3rd. Now the waiting game begins.

 

I had to order my 350 F Sport today because the color combinaton I want (Nebula/Red) was nowhere to be found in the North East. Since I have to wait anyway, I treated myself to the Mark Levinson audio, also nowwhere to be found. So, my three month wait begins.

By the way, I listened to the same material on the standard system and on the Levinson today. What a difference! While the standard system is more than competent (beats the heck out of the HK in my BMW), the Levinson is so full and lifelike, capturing both highs and lows well. I would recommend this systen highly to anyone considering it

 

If you ordered an AWD 350 without the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control then the order should not take more than the 2-3 months. I ordered a 350 RWD F-Sport with all options in RI back in May and between the RWD and Dynamic Cruise, I have been waiting for 3 months and counting.
Good choice with the Mark Levinson. I feel it is worth the extra money as well.

 

Thanks for the information about the wait.. I did not order the Dynamic Cruise Control, although it does sound like a great option! I wonder if ordering the ML will also delay my order as ordering Dynamic Cruise is doing with yours.

 

Mark Levinson should not delay your order as it seems readily available in other parts of the country. Technically, in this day and age, Lexus should be able to just take a generic car that is about to enter the system and modify the configuration like BMW does.

 

kabgolf, did you see in my order thread that it turns out my salesman was teasing me? He called saying it had arrived in port in LA. Turns out he mis-read it and it was about to leave port in Japan. What torture!
