2014 IS250 w/ F-Sport package or Base IS350
New here and in the market for a Lexus (350z current). So after stopping by the dealership over the weekend i got to test drove the 350 Fsport, but salesman didn't seem interested to let me try the 250F and said it's the same car just weaker engine. Obviously it has a weaker engine, but I wanted the overall feel of how it performs. Anyways, after carefully overlooking my budget with great detail, I have concluded that the 350F would be a bit out of my range coming in at $51,500+/- w/ TTL included.
my budget is around $45k-46k out the door at the moment and the two options I have are style/luxury (250F) or Performance (350base).
If any of you recently bought a 2014 IS, what prices did you pay for them? I'm in cali btw.
The one thing that's stopping me is buyers remorse/regret. The 250 seems underpowered for me, but I might be able to overlook that with the awesome Fsport package. The 350 suits me better in the performance area, but lack all the features in the Fsport package.
Let me know what you guys think.

I purchased a 2014 Is 250 base model and couldn't be happier. Personally, I don't need the extra HP the 350 has to offer on the contrary, I want to save more gas . I was so close to picking out a white F Sport but the fact is that I kept that $$ in my pocket because I'm going to be modding this base model anyways. I can't remember exactly how much I paid out the door but I will check the papers.

I got my Lexus 250 F Sport for 45k here in Cali (LA) and I'm very happy with my F Sport body and extras that come with it. Power is the only little down part with only 206hp but saving gas on the 250 is great at the pump with theses high gas prices in LA. That's why i went with the IS250 F Sport.

The pursuit of F
I come from a CT and a previous IS250 AWD so power is not a priority for me so I placed an order on the 250 F-Sport.
If you own a Z and other powerful cars, I assume power and handling are at the top of your priority and although you'd need the 350 F-Sport to fully fill both these needs , the "regular" 350 handles nearly as good as the F-Sport so I'd lean on this one for you.
Of course, if you don't mind giving up acceleration/torque, but still have excellent handling, the 250 F-Sport might suit your needs loaded for the 45K price range you're looking for...

I asked the same question a week ago and I went with the IS 350 f sport Couldn't be happier all I know
Is I won't have regrets down the line that I need more power or have I should have questions. Go for the 350

I picked up a 250 FSport and have no regrets. As others have said, I don't need the extra horsepower that the 350 has and wanted to take advantage of the better MPG to save on gas.

Thanks for the quick help. I might be leaning towards the 250F because that RED LEATHER is so delicious! Maybe I can pawn off some of my camera accessories to make up for that extra 5grand I need for the 350F. I wanted to note that before looking at the Lexus I almost bought a used 2009 Bmw M3, but decided against it due to it's maintenance cost and it's a old car already.

If so that's a good deal. Which dealer and salesman if you don't mind?

My vote goes for the 350. If I'm spending 45-50K on a vehcile, a 2mpg difference isn't going to make me give up 100 HP and settle on a car that's suppose to be a Luxury "sports sedan" but can only keep up with a base model, non turbo Ford Focus SE
