Default No Electronic Parking Brake?!

Ok I have been looking at a ton of interior photos and it seems that the IS doesn't have an electronic parking break?!

You think they would have it considering a lot of other luxury and non-luxury makers are adding it to their cars!

For crying out loud...Even a Kia Optima has it...

It is a push foot brake. ES, CT, GX, LX, HS, RX don't have an electronic one either

whats even the advantage of having it electronic? How do you release it if the car battery goes dead.

There is an emergency release in the trunk underneath the spare tire.

One less thing to have to remember when parking or driving, less clutter in the cabin (ie location of handbrake or push foot brake). Of course those are just some reasons. There are plenty of negative ones too of having electric vs mechanical

another positive is that it usually brings a brake hold feature for stoplights, less clutter in the footwell area/center console

Not on the GS350 which only has an electronic parking brake with either auto/ or manual toggling, but the 450h offers a "Hold" button (so does the LS460)

Yeah in our GS everytime you put in park the brake turns on (as Hoovey stated you can turn it off). No pedal and we don't miss it at all.

Am I the only who missed the old drifting hand brake? Guess I'm still old school.

Glad my IS has a hand brake, I think I'd miss it.
