'24 Non ML System Upgrade (Aftermarket Amp)
Hello fellow Lexus owners,
I have a 2024 is350 F sport without the Mark Levinson speaker system - I feel the stock system is very lacking in terms of bass and overall range.
I wanted to install an aftermarket amp in the car, and maybe some nicer speakers in the rear and front dash but I am struggling to find many tutorials or people documenting their results trying this.
Crutchfield has nicely listed out Amps compatible with 24 is350s w/o the ML speaker option and I have been eyeing on these:
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XM4....html?tp=70135
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130GMD....html?tp=70135
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_161A60....html?tp=70135
They also seem to have an install wiring kit with a mastersheet to show the factory amp outputs/wiring
Does anyone know of/have any video tutorials on this? Does with experience installing an aftermarket Amp and speakers have any tips, pointers or warnings I should be aware about before making the investment?
Any guidance is appreciated truly

Lexus (and many other brands as well) have their amp+speakers factory calibrated and equalized . That means if you change speakers, in all probability it'll hose up the equalization and you'll have worse sound quality.
Additionally Lexus HU works in conjunction with the factory amp and you've to keep the amp in place to ensure everything is working properly. I think there's a way to take out factory amp using iDataLink but just checked on their website and they're not showing anything from '24 IS.
I've experience with other model years and I can tell you that you'll need to use a DSP and an 6/8 channel amp or something like JBL DSP4086 which is a DSP as well as an amp. I had the previous generation DSP from JBL (MS-8) which was 30W RMS per channel and it was great in terms of sound quality and good enough in terms of loudness. DSP4086 does 40W RMS per channel so it should be enough unless you're looking at playing your music for entire neighborhood
.
If this sounds like something you want to do, please let me know and I can give you some more high level guidelines.

This is actually what I was trying to do:
I saw a video or two on people bypassing the factory amp (I think they simply would splice the cables from the factory amp into their aftermarket amp something like that),
Would you say it is a overall worth it process to add a DSP+AMP alongside the factory amp and new speakers?

You can also just change the some of the speakers and have a good effect. I have an 18 IS with factory non-ML amp and upgraded the dash speakers to JBL club 3.5." It was a night and day difference on mids and highs. Bright and clear. Easy install.
You can change the speaker balance to 1-2 clicks rearward for better balance, but I'm super happy.

pretty good video on installing a line-out converter & amp by tapping into the OEM unit in the trunk. i was able to install these for my skar 8" subwoofer without too much trouble. the longest part is just cutting & routing wires lol.
I've also just replaced my 3 dash speakers with some JBL club 34F's without needing to mess with any wiring.
just these changes made music pretty enjoyable imo and just the right amount of bass and clarity improvement without making you look like a prepubescent HS teen bumping bass lol.
Thanks everyone- this is really helpful!
Looks like i'll go for either this one
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_109DSP....html?tp=78740
or this one
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108DSP....html?tp=78740
with sony speakers at the back and JVCs at the front dash for the extra wattage
I think my only worry rn is wiring, will I really need to strip down half my car to get power to the back where the aftermarket amp+dsp combo unit will be?
Correct me if I'm wrong but there should be 12v going into the factory amp right? Is it safe to splice that and send that into the JBL or Infinity unit?
