The insurance company came back with an estimate that they'd pay. A little over $12,000. The dealership accepted it and ordered the part. Seems like there was some wiggle room in the dealership's estimate. Shocker!

 

Hmmm… guess I wouldn’t have thought of filing an insurance claim, good for you. Keep an eye on your future rates, be interesting to see if there are any ramifications down the road.

 

Yeah I never file insurance claims for fear of increased rates. Some say if the claim isn't due to an accident rates may not go up much if at all. They go up annually anyway so I guess I'm no worse off.

 

We’re rooting for you. Keep us posted on the results, how long it takes for the dealer to do the work, and if they got it right (everything works afterwards).

 

just read that honda is now selling electrical tape laced with capsasin which is the hot ingredient in chilis..Its grey in color with a mice logo every few inches..wonder if if it works on Mexican mice:}
