Engine Harnesses

Hello,

I bought an engine a while back and it came with a harness. The engine turned out not to be as advertised. The harness allegedly was from a 92 Sc300, but I don't trust that at all.

My question is are there things I can look for on the harness that will indicate or give me a hint as to what year/model the harness came from?

I am going to be wiring in MS3x/LQ9s/etc..but I need to figure out what the harness is before I can begin. I am totally new to this engine and it is going into a E36 M3.
