Default Rear Diffuser / Lower Cover replacement

Hey has anybody been under the car to be able to see the clips/plugs that hold the "lower cover" in place at the top. Is that something you can get to from underneath the car or does the bumper cover have to be removed to access them. The ones on the sides seem easy enough to get to from what I could see. Any help would be appreciated.

I pulled the picture from this site...

Gotta remove the bumper cover to get to all of the clips.

That is what I was afraid of. Anybody got video of pictures of the removal process?

I found video from NIA website (how to install their aftermarket diffuser) - first half shows how to remove it.

Oops, disregard my post. I didn't realize you had a newer 3rd Gen.

No problem, either way he never takes off the bumper cover, he just tries to get to the wiring to tap into which I won't be doing. I need to take off the factory diffuser, I'm not adding anything to it.

I need to do this. What did you find for replacements and did you find the cover removal process?

I have not found anything for 2021+ IS. Previous years of 3IS I can find a bumper cover removal video but that does not help on the cover if it is needed or not. I have not had time to investigate as I am spending a week in Chicago so I'm on vacation mode.

Any luck finding this out? I found it hard ordering just the "lower cover" so I'm thinking you need to take off the bumper cover.

A body shop used cheap clips or didn't install right, I've noticed my lower bumper diffuser (on a 2018) is sometimes separating from the actual bumper. I can push it back into place by pushing where the diffuser meets the upper bumper, but the fix is temporary and it starts splitting when I wash the car or push on the upper bumper. I'm guessing to replace the clips or access them I have to take the whole bumper off?
