Hearing grinding noise from underneath my 2014 is350. It happens very occasionally. Usually hear it at residential speeds. A lot of the time is when I’m going uphill. Other than that no other symptoms are apparent. It shifts good, doesn’t slip, turns good, and the sound stops if I let off the gas. I just changed the trans fluid, and the rear diff fluid was changed around 6k miles ago. Brake pads were changed and rotors were recently resurfaced. Also did a visual inspection under the car and nothing seems to be stuck or scrapping.I don’t know what this is can anyone help?
Quick Question. On the transmission fluid...Did you do a drain and fill only? Or did you do a Transmission flush? Rule of thumb on these is to never do a tranny flush. Only do a Drain and fill...

Well that's at least good. But the grinding is obviously not good. Was the grinding noise present before you had the tranny drained and filled? Or did it begin after?

No it was about a week before I did the fluid change.

Dang... Obviously it woulda been nice to have that grinding noise disappear after the drain and fill.. It may be advisable to consult a professional at this point at a transmission specialist.

My car just developed a grinding and clonking sound.
Had my shop lift the car and we found a front driver cv axle spewing grease. Found the source of the noise. Belllexus got me for $585 shipped on a new oem replacement.
My car only has 85,000 miles, I find it hard the believe one of my cv axles already failed. My 2002 Subaru had its original front cv axles till 2025 and had 160,000 miles. The original rear cv axles are still running on the car, I replaced the rubber boots on them and repacked them. The Lexus CV axle has a clip like part that is broken or popped out, didn’t take it out yet to see what really went wrong. Might be repairable but I’m just going to replace it because it pisses me off.

Mine happens only when the car is warmed up, on load(low throttle), all gears and around 1600rpm.
Most importantly I cant get it to do it revving stationary.
I am yet to figure it out. Nothing has changed or got worse.
Ive done the gearbox and diff service as well. Everything looked healthy in the oils according to the shop and did not change the sound.
All I can suspect is something in the exhaust (muffler or cat) since it is in every gear with a certain resonance and a certain load making amplitude more.
Other than that didn't see a mount that's worn or something loose.
All heat shields are tight and bolts are tight, no obvious exhaust leaks are apparent.
The springs on the axle-back part with the mufflers would be another guess.
Goodluck! would also like to get this sorted on my car.

New cv axle fixed my clonking and grinding sound. Part and labor $800
Not bad considering I paid more to replace the front jdm STi cv axles on the bugeye last year.
Today I noticed sidewall damage on my passenger front side tire that is about 6 months old. Have to go see what road hazard will cover.
