hey peoples ... wanted to check the brain trust here before talking to dealership/shop

the trunk of my is200t is having issues with the spring. i think i shut the trunk lid down on something and the articulating leg or whatever is jacked up. now it sounds and feels violent when trying to open and close.

how big of a deal will this be? trying to somewhat be prepared before talking to someone to get this fixed. is this somewhat of a common issue?
