2023 IS350 - Window Tint
No, not concerned at all about him removing the tint. I am concerned how, or if he will correct the issue. If he says he can't get it better ... I need to find an installer that uses llumar tint (to match the other windows). Hopefully, he can work this out.
I'm very interested in the steam method you mentioned. I will ask the shop about it...I really need a better tint to survive the Texas summers...
For what its worth my daily driver (Cherokee X) has exactly the same tint imperfection at the passenger's window - I only noticed it a year after the tint was installed. I can't say it bothers me enough to devote time to get it replaced.

I will post an update here to share the outcome. Hope it may help someone down the road.
I tint for a living, and no that is not "normal". It needs to be redone. Also, as far as I know there is no factory coating on the IS. I had a '21 model that I tinted 3 different times because my wife wanted it darker, didn't run into any issues. The NX has a factory coating I know, because I had one of those as well. Even if he uses steam to remove the old tint, chances are it will leave some glue and still need scraping to get absolutely clean. Except on the rear window, you can't scrape the defrost lines. You have to use steel wool and soapy water to remove any glue. While it is possible to get a perfect job, it is by luck only. No tint job will be absolutely perfect unless you are in an air tight environment with no dust/fiber particles flying around in the air. Can it be better than what is shown here? Absolutely.

On what years? My '21 didn't have a coating on them. My 2019 NX did. None of the IS models we have tinted have had that coating on them. My Daughter's brand new '23 RC 350 didn't have the coating either, I tinted it today. To my knowledge, and I am not a Lexus expert, but the only vehicle they make that has had the coating is the NX. But our tint cutting system has notes for all of the cars we enter into it, and we get no notifications except when we enter the NX. I could be wrong, but haven't encountered it yet.
I know some have the water repelling front door glass, but that is all. Is that possibly what you guys are talking about? Because you wouldn't want to use any chemicals on that. Can ya'll post up the info in the manual? I don't still have our manual to our '21.
