Default Scratch on the Gloss Black Spoiler - 2022 IS350

I was looking over my car after I parked and noticed this pretty large scratch in the gloss black rear spoiler (see attached). Not sure what caused it but hazards of parking on the street. Any suggestions on how I can cosmetically fix this up? Touch up paint part number would also be appreciated! 🥲

Depending how deep the scratch is, you could try compounding with dual action polisher, then polish. That may get it looking great, but also may not do much, depending how deep it is. Quick test, if you spray some water on the scratch, does it disappear? If so, it's superficial and in the top clear layer which you can fix. If not, it's too deep to fix. Touch up paint on that piece may look silly. Looks like you have hard water stains too. You can try to polish those out, but may also need 1:1 vinegar/water mixture to get those out. Good luck. Hit me up if you need more guidance.

I checked again and it’s pretty deep, like I can run my fingers into the scratch. My best guess is someone keyed my spoiler because the ridges in the scratch look kind of jagged. Not sure if polishing it would work but I can give it a shot. I also dont want to spend however much to get it repaired or sanded off/repainted.

Might be cheaper to just get a new spoiler. Although sounds like you run the risk of it being keyed again.

LOL yeah perks of living in New York…I think I’m just going to leave it for now.

Appreciate the tips. I checked the parts website and its probably going to be $480 for a replacement spoiler. If I don’t think about it too much I’ll get over it.

I don’t know if it would be cheaper option, but you can always try to wrap it in either black or carbon pattern. I know that it’s not perfect solution but seems better than 500$ for new spoiler 😅
