spoiler IS really on the car
Well guys, had some time on my hands today, and decided to Make my stock spoiler on my sc400 a lil more Obviouse. What inspired me was, My first car ever was a 428 cobra jet , R code Mach I mustang, 4 sp hurst, drag pack, it had magnum 500 rims on it , and the spoiler package was , front spoiler, rear spoiler, shaker hood, and black strips on the sides of car that turned gold at night when hit with lights. Got to looking at my car from the pics I have taken and and Was not at all happy with the rear end. It just didnt look like it had a spoiler on it being the same color.. So .. Went and bought some flat black paint, baby powder , sand paper and went to work on it today.. pretty simple job actually . removed the spoiler from the car, 5 nuts later it was off.. sanded it down with 200 sand paper then mixed the baby powder in with the satin paint.. sprayed it , several coats. put it back on.. took me 4 hours. I think it Really stands out now, and after all . the stock spoiler really IS NICE, I just think you have to make it noticable.. let me know what you guys think. ?
the front spoiler on this sc is the same color as the rear.. I LIKE IT. THATS all that matters .. thanks for your opinions though.
oh and the powder in the paint? gives it texture, nice satin look.

black spoiler on red mustang = yes
black spoiler on red SC = no
black spoiler on red mustang = yes
black spoiler on red SC = no
nice for the "different" factor but i wouldn't rock it

Yeah good job on being different. If I were you, I'd try to have like black rims with it, or try the main part of the spoiler red with the top 1" or so in a black outline sort of. And yeah what did the baby powder do?

I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that it's not pleasing to my eyes at all. You asked and I'm being honest. Textured paint belongs on houses, not cars...and if you wanted the spoiler to stand out more you should have gotten a different spoiler because that looks mismatched and out of place. Again, just being honest
When you say "texture" it makes me think "orange peel" and when I think orange peel I think cheap paint job....

I think it looks OK with the car, even though the windows are tinted, maybe a darker tint would help make it look better.
I like the black rims and red and black trim on the spoiler idea too...that might set it off.
definite for uniqueness, effort and intiative.
I'd love to see some close up pics too!
