In the 2023 IS350 on full throttle I can hear what sounds like a supercharger whine. I know these are normally aspirated, anyone know what that sound is from?

 

The engine has a little fuel pump noise. Though, I always found that the noise got drowned-out by the induction sound at high RPM. Do you only hear it on full throttle?

 

Now that I think about it I am just more aware at full throttle because I want to hear what the engine sounds like without ASC, thats when I noticed it. Let me pay more attention to the sound throughout the powerband this weekend.

 

I used to hear this on my IS200t, brand new. i never figured out what it was, but it seems to get louder as the engine revved, and it was only at certain times, not all times.

 

Had a long lunch today, definitely at full throttle when it goes over 3700 RPM's. If its half throttle or just normal acceleration over 3700 no sound, but if its floored you can hear a whine develop that gets louder as RPM's increase over 3700-4k rpm.
