Suspension issue after tie rod replacement- Camber is off
Hey everyone, been having this issue since last year. I went to get an alignment done at my local dealership and my steering wheel was leaning towards the left side. They told me my tie rods on one of the sides was seized. I bought new tie rods from DiscountPartsMonster (OEM) and had them installed at a 3rd party shop and they offered to do an alignment for $100 so I said sure why not. When they had my car on the alignment rack, they couldn't adjust anything and kept telling me things were 'seized' and they claimed they brought my camber in the front to -2.0 on both sides to match the -2.0 on the rear. Car steering wheel was still leaning towards left and they told me that since the 'rear arm & nut' is seized, they can only do an alignment in the front which is causing the car's steering wheel to be crooked.
So I've been driving like this for a few months, decided to go back to the dealership for them to align it, but now it is found that the camber on the left driver is -1.5 (which it's always been) and the passenger front is -2.5 which they got to -2.2. That's a pretty significant difference from the -1.4 - 1.6 it's always been and now the steering wheel is leaning towards the right.
My question basically is, do tie rods affect camber? I am bringing it back to the shop. I have never had camber this bad in the front after my spring install, it's until after I brought it to this shop that my right side is off by that much only after the tie rod install. They said my shocks were ok visually and not blown. Anybody have thoughts?

You were basically right. The indie shop’s alignment machine isn’t dialed in right. Good thing is, they were able to bring my camber back down to -1.7 which means the dealership tech was extremely incompetent. He let my car leave the shop with the steering wheel to the right, absolutely worst alignment I’ve ever had. The tech said that they couldn’t get the camber less than -2.2 degrees so it’s good to know that it is in fact adjustable. Getting some management involved when I go back, if they can’t do the alignment, just going to ask for my money back and go to Firestone
