hey guys I recently bought a 2007 is250 with about 105k miles and coming from a w211 e350 Mercedes I noticed that the Lexus has a electric steering lock as well? that unlocks the column when starting and locks it when the door is opened.

anyways i noticed that mine is fine but it locks rather slow when i open the door to get out, like the motor is burning out maybe (not that experienced with Lexus )? idk i changed the motor on my Mercedes e350 once after i got stranded car wouldn't start just making sure if the locks are good on these cars and dont go bad that often?

please let me know so i can ease my mind about getting stranded somewhere because the column doesn't unlock

I think it's normal. I haven't timed mine at least. Also its not a know issue.
