Default 656-112-102 - Weapon-R I-Throttle Controller

Anyone has any experience with the Weapon R I-throttle controller (656-122-102)? Pros/ cons?

I feel the IS has a slow throttle response (delay) due to the throttle-by-wire setup. All my muscle cars have a custom tune to defeat the delay. I don't want to do a full tune on the IS since its my daily driver and I'm not paying $500+ for very minimal gain, I just want a little more crisp throttle response.

I have a chance to purchase an NEW Weapon R I-throttle system for half the cost of retail pricing. I heard good things about it for other vehicle platforms. I just want to make sure it will work on the lexus as advertised.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and stay safe!!

Do you have an IS250 or 350? I can't see in the mobile version if you have a signature or not and nothing listed in your profile. I have an IS350 and have no issues with throttle response, especially in ECT mode

Well its doesn't really matter what type of car or engine. Its NOT about power. ALL drive-by-wire throttled cars suffer with a little lag due to time it takes for for the electronics to process the signal from the pedal. Even if its a split second, its still a delay. Not like old school drive-by-cable wich is instant response. So the throttle controller is supposed eliminate that delay for a much more crisp feeling. Its hard to imagine if you have never driven a throttle corrected, Throttle-by-wire vehicle. But if you had 2 exact same cars side by side, one with a throttle controller and one without, you will definitely feel the difference. It doesn't add power but its a more responsive crisp feel when you push the throttle.

Oh, I'm 53 years old, I've driven a ton of Throttle by wire vehicles throughout the 80's and 90's. For me the delay doesn't really matter because I can't feel it in my IS350 because it's response is instant, especially in ECT mode. That is if the road is not wet, I'm flooring it and the nannies take over. The reason I asked you is because there is a big difference between the IS350 and IS250...100 hp difference. I've driven the IS250 and there is a huge difference. The IS250 has less power than my 2006 Camry SE (3.3L V6), and in my Camry I definitely feel a bit of a delay

Thank you for your response but you are totally missing the point. I'm looking for product review for the item above. It has NOTHING, again, NOTHING to do with power. Also nothing to do with age lol.

if you wanna share your back ground, here is the short version of mine just so you know I do know what I'm talking about......I am 45 years old, I've worked on many, many cars in my life, many makes and models but I specialize in modern LSX vehicles. I built and tuned my current 1067 whp camaro and my 556 whp G8. All of which has had some sort of Throttle delay stock due to the nature of throttle-by-wire system which ALL cars HAVE to a certain extent. 100hp car to a 1200hp car they ALL suffer throttle delay especially with factory electronics. If you haven't driven a CORRECTED throttle-by-wire vehicle its hard to understand the difference vs stock and a tuned throttle-by-wire. Its a much more crisp feel. Again, NOT about power.
My Lexus and my Trailblazer SS are daily driver/ family vehicles which are more or less stock with basic mods mostly appearance mods. Both, like ALL vehicles, they suffer from throttle-by-wire delay. Since my lexus is my lowest hp car its more noticeable and needs all the help it can get. Lol.

Sorry not trying to sound like an a$$ but Again, thank you for your response, but unless you have direct experience with the Weapon R throttle controller, your input is not really needed since you don't see the point. Stay safe!!

Hi, if it does the same thing as other throttle controllers do. It is very very nice. Especially if it has an automatic mode. Which is one where if you are light on your foot normally, it almost goes into ECO mode for fuel economy, and when you step on it normally, it give way more signals than normal.

I have one from Ebay branded Eittar and it has an automatic mode. They did ask me which model as if they were going to find a vehicle specific model or firmware for it, so ask if the Weapons R controller is tuned for your IS250 and if it has an automatic setting. Otherwise you are just stuck with single mode settings which is fine for track days, but normally its super nice to have ECO when you are light footed, and Racing mode as they all suggest as you press down on the pedal.
