Default My First Car

hey guys, been looking through these forums for about a year now and finally decided to reach out. i’m 18 and have had my 06 is250 for two years. she’s sitting at 150k miles but i love her to death and i finally want to do somethings to her. i found a deal on some after market rims for $200 on craigslist and got them and now i want to move on to new headlights and an exhaust. want to straight pipe the car but don’t know anything about it honestly. would it throw a code if i delete the mufflers and resonator?

Personally that would be too loud/droney for my taste. But to answer your question, as far as I know you would not get any check engine lights/codes for removing the mufflers and last resonator.

I'm 21 and I do like decently loud even if it's my daily driver. However, the muffler delete and/or resonator delete is just too droney/obnoxious, so I will either upgrade to the f sport exhaust this upcoming spring or get a custom exhaust made.

But in all honesty the car still sounds great with the stock exhaust and f sport air intake box (I have 2IS 350).

Ah, to be 21 again . The F-Sport exhaust is fine for me as it's only loud (not obnoxiously loud) when you pound on it. Normal and freeway driving it's quiet with just a hint of growl

Agreed. Straight piping is noise pollution.

I think quite a few people have installed the Manzo. They seem ok for a cheap exhaust. But , if you want to straight pipe your car , you should. It’s your car , not ours. Megan would be another good affordable exhaust option as well. The drift spec would be similar in sound to the HKS.

Straight pipe is going to get you the most noise at the cheapest price. It's going to annoy everyone around you and drone like crazy, but that's your best bang for the buck for noise
