Stock Wheel offset
I think some markets/years have different 17" wheels (although they might have the same dimensions) so a photo of your current wheels may help.
My 17" OEM wheels (part no: 4261153330) on my 2011 IS350 AWD are as follows:
Size: 17"x8"
Bolt Pattern: 114.3mmx5 lug
Offset: 45mm
I am running 225/45/R17 Tires on a squared set up.

So i have a set of Sport Edition wheels that are 17x7.5 with a 42mm offset, will these be a problem on my 09 IS250 AWD? Compared to my stock with 45mm offset.

From what I know this might be standard in canada, and 18's are the upgrade (and then the nicer graphite 18's for the f sport package).
and Jerry, to answer your question about those sport edition wheels they are smaller in terms of width compared to the stock wheels (at least the ones I have) 7.5" instead of 8" and yes the offset is a little bit tighter (42mm instead of 45mm).
I am unable to say for sure because I haven't personally used smaller wheels (only went bigger) and from my research I found people using 8-9" width, but I'm thinking there is a chance they would fit on your IS250 (I would be less confident is you were fitting on an IS350 as the brakes are larger).
I would recommend test fitting them first if possible. Keep us updated on how this works out!
