Krown rustproofing
Just picked up 06 is350 with 51000km, pretty mint. I live in Toronto and the car will be outside most of the time. Does anyone recommend krown rustproofing or should I just not get rustproofing done at all?
Yes. I live in Alberta where we get salt and gravel but not to the extent you don in Ontario and Quebec. A good friend in Ontario uses chain saw oil every fall. It’s sticky and gooey and really sticks And his 12 year vehicle and 12 year old vehicle have no bone zero rust anywhere in the undercarriage. It cost about $12. Get a paint sprayer and spray the underside with chainsaw chain oil and you Won’t have rust. And it’s easy to clean off if you need to. And you can do it.
Krown rustproofing to be blunt, sucks. The stuff simply doesn't last that long find a shop to treat with Fluid Film (or do it yourself) it is far better. Fluid Film will soften or even remove spray on rubber type undercoatings (not any factory coating), which is not a bad thing.
Chain oil will destroy rubber bushings.
