I have a new to me lexus is250c. When I test drove the car, I noticed that the car had a somewhat rough idle once I stepped on the brake and came to a complete stop at a red light. The car was sitting for 3-4 months so I figured the car had some bad gas?
I now have the car two months and still notice this from time to time. Today I'm driving fine and the cars completely warmed up. I come to a complete stop at a red light and notice the rpm drops low then jumps right back up.
I would suggest cleaning the throttle body but this must be done very carefully with a cleaning fluid specifically for this purpose.
I have used a Wynns spray product which you spray into the throttle body with the engine speed held at roughly 2000rpm and this proved quite effective.
Yup, had the same issue and cleaning throttle body helped. It was the second throttle body clean on my IS300!
Took the screws of holding the throttle body together and cleaned it. Super dirty. Put everything back together and let it run for 10 minutes until it found its idle. Now the car runs perfect !
