need to replace IS250 steering rack
Wife avoided hitting a car while driving her 2012 IS250 AWD on a rainy Monday morning. She made a sharp left turn and hit the curb on the opposite lane. Steering rack definitely needs replacement as the car steering wheel cant turn right or left , and possible other suspension parts may be damaged too. Question is , is there a difference between a RWD steering rack or a AWD steering rack. Is this car worth repairing also? Front bumper needs replacement also. Car is at 65000 miles , original owner. Any input appreciated..

I'll upload some pics later. You're right, not gonna do insurance as adjuster might total this car. I'm just worried about the refurb/remanufactured steering rack , that it may not last a few months . Still looking if there's a difference between RWD or AWD steering rack, cause out here in Cali, there's not a lot of used AWD IS250 racks .Another issue is calibration after install . Thanks bud
You'll have to drop the subframe to get the rack out. Follow the PDF for sway bar install. Probably also going to have to remove the outer tie rods from the rack. Then you should be able to snake it out. When I installed my front sway bar. I figured it should clear to some degree if needed be.

subframe is bent also, now we are looking at replacing all suspension parts, steering rack, leaking shocks, practically everything now. Its gonna take time and I'm not sure how much parts I'm going to spend for this repair...plus maybe some body shop expense also if the frame needs some pulling , not sure yet though..Still think its worth it?
