Default Tach needle not working when cold

Is a sticking tach needle a know issue ? It only happens when below freezing. Today was 16 deg. And took about 5 miles before it started working.

I haven't seen anyone mention that yet. It's like you're in new Econo Mode our cars are not known for!
Abstract; is it possible to toss a 60 watt lamp in the cabin, say on the drivers floor (don't allow melty), just to confirm it is for example the needles grease jelling vs a control issue outside the cabin.

Interesting failure mode there. GL

I have the only hybrid gas/electric is350 produced. Lol I was thinking it was like some type of dielectric Grease. But sometimes it will jump around like a loose connection, never higher than the actual RPM. I’ll watch it later today , 18-30 deg forecast.

The blur is thanks to a nasty pot hole last week. Hit so hard the abs & trac control light flashed.
now I need to get my winter wheel straightened.

We can fix this issue for you! Probably just a motor replacement, but we wouldn't be able to know for sure until we had it in our hands - but no matter what, a simple fix!
Send me an email with your vehicle information and I'd be happy to set up a quote for you!

Would one be able to still drive their 2IS vehicle without having a cluster installed? I'm not...but had to ask.

Good question.
today was 31 deg. No issue with the tach.
If it’s only on cold days I can deal with that.

The car will run and drive fine without the cluster installed - but most states require a real time way to monitor the vehicle's speed on public roads.

Of course, but was just curious for those that do have issues with their clusters and no ability to fix it themselves and daily drive their 2IS. Good to know!
