Default Quick Question about suspension

Hey everyone,
I need to be educated once again.

I have a IS250 & was told by a "car guy" that she was sittin on "lowering springs" (my car is kinda low) & I have a front right strut that has been leaking for 2 months now, so I gotta change it out but unsure if I also should replace the springs since they have not been changed since I got the car almost 3 years ago. So with that being said, how should I proceed? How do I know, I indeed have lowering springs? I would to go to a shop, but lately, I've been to busy to wait an hour to just get my 250 looked at. Also, I would like to order the parts myself since the cheapest the shops around here have quoted me is 1200 for two new front struts + labor..

Thank you.

just look at your springs, it should be apparent if they are stock. Stock ride height you should be able to stick your foot in the fender gap it's so big. Skip springs and get coilovers since you need to replace the struts anyways

@Aspect Thanks for the input ! Definitely been thinking about coilovers but my poor lexus is approaching 160K, so don't think I should invest in those until I upgrade haha.

@bbaugher47 Here are a few of the best I could find showing the fender gap.

Car looks great btw. She’s definitely lowered. Coilovers will be the easiest to install and may save on labor costs. I wouldn’t replace just the shocks.

@bbaugher47 I appreciate the compliment! So,to be clear, I should replace both struts & shocks. but instead of struts, get some coilovers? Do, I need to get a specific type of shocks to go along with coilovers?

1- our platform uses shocks , not struts . So no , you wouldn’t need to replace both. 2- coilovers are already assembled with the spring on the shock body. They also provide adjustability pertaining to ride height. You could get some Tein FlexZ coilovers for about 620.00 for the set from Race consulting agency.
