Default Time for upgrades....

going to start fixing up my car wondering if there are anything threads about isf body parts on a is250. plans are going to be swapping out hood, fenders, side skirts and upgrade brakes on all 4 corners to lexus brembos. my goals is pretty much convert my is250 into a isf minus the engine and transmission. all suspension is getting aftermarket arms, down the road the engine will get swapped out when it goes out.

Just FYI, for the amount of money and time you spend on those upgrades, you can buy the real ISF that drives like ISF and holds the ISF resale value.

^^ couldn’t agree more. Project cars are fun but expensive.

And because its Lexus and IS-F, you will pay a premium compared to most any other car out there.

JM2C but when the audience sees it's a 250, there may be some shaming involved. Maybe keep the 250 badge??? Ha!

buying isf would probably be cheaper if i planning on keeping it stock but its been a daily decent daily but its getting stripped and gutted and turned into a track car eventually. i rather do it to is250 then a isf, spending 20k on a $5000 car versus spending 20k on a $30k used isf.

i dont plan on badging it as a ISF at all badges are getting removed.... catching slack is going to happen from any1 every1 has there different opinions on cars just cause i want to use parts off a ISF doesn't make it 1. beside its is250 so the swaps going impractical like either a Jdm Beams or a 1j. depending the route i take it after the all suspension and brakes are done i might pull my ls3 out of my 240sx.

the isf is wider than the 250 so I don't think the hood will fit. ISF brakes require ISF hubs I've read. Idk about fender or side skirt fitment

I always assumed the ISF was built on the same chassis as the 250/350. Never looked at one in person really close.

For parts swaps I use
T o y o d i y . c o m then hit other lexus sites to check actual compatibility and where used.

OP if you know a good body man think about a weld on wide body. It will turn heads regardless of what else is done.
Good luck and have fun!

from what i have gathered from online research the chassis's are identical same wheelbase length, the widths are different front and rear cause the isf runs wide wheels and different offsets for upgraded performance. the width between them isf front fenders are 1.5 inch wider for tire clearance and the isf bumper has larger grill opening for more air volume to radiator and the isf hood is just has raised crawl for more aggressive look and clearance for the v8.... saturday going over to a friends bodyshop to compare chassis dimension between the 08 is250 and 08 isf. we have no down time at our shops right which suck for our project builds.
