Default Sticky Dashboard

I am the original owner of a 2007 IS350 and in all my years I never had the sticky dashboard problem until this past month with my car never driven - only parked in the garage. I only have 50k on the odometer. Obviously, my warranty has ended for the stick dash replacement. I am contemplating whether to get it leather wrapped or get a replacement dash out of pocket. Does anyone know if the newer dashboards have improved materials or has anyone this far out of warranty of the dashboard gotten a discount?

The replacement dash and door panels in our '08 IS250 seem to be holding up well. They were replaced by Lexus before we purchased the vehicle from the previous owner. If I were you I would source a new dash and replace it myself. It's well worth the look in the long run especially if you plan on keeping the vehicle. While ours was purchased with 152k on the odometer I knew for resale it was important to find one where the dash and panels were already replaced.

Default ES350 2007 sticky dash

I have a problem with my es350 dash getting sticky when I leave the car in the sun. Does anyone know if a toyota dealer will replace them under the
recall? I took my car in a few years ago and the said it didnot need replacing. It starting getting sticky within the last month. I live in SE Alabama
humidity is always high.

Default melting dash is better description

well my 06 has 76K miles, dash is melting away. They keep wanting to replace the airbags, well they can replace the passenger one, they will have to replace the dash cause it will just fall apart. In on sticky tar like blob. Yeah, they have annoyed me with recall crap on stuff that didn't need recalled and this dash is one thing that should be replaced.
I have been thinking about just coating the dash with Plasti-Dip. Cover everything except the top of the dash and coat it. I don't know, its hard to find anyone that will take car of your car like you do.
Let us know what the dealer says
best regards

That's a good question. You can create an account and LexusDrivers.com and add any VIN to see the vehicle history from the Lexus dealer. Before we purchased a vehicle I took the VIN for each one and added it to see if the panels were replaced. This is what it said (in part) in the history of the one we ended up buying:

137555 miles DATE: 05/16/2017

That was very informative. It stopped at 2016 and no dash replacement. Thank you so much for the info.

Default Replacement

I had this problem from my 06 is250. It is considered a manufacturer Defect. My dash became so sticky and glazed over that the reflection on my windshield was hurting my eyes and blinding when driving. They replaced all of my door panels and dash completely for free in 2018 at the Lexus dealership.

I have an '09 with 135K miles.. took it to the dealership yesterday for a battery replacement and service manager informed me 2009's are now covered under warranty.

He ordered the panels (dashboard and 4 door panel trim covers) and is scheduled to come back as soon the parts arrive. The job takes at least a day to finish so I get to have a loaner again too

Been pretty lucky with my local dealership, excellent customer service.

You're saying you got an 06 IS250 dashboard replaced in 2018? How?! I just recently got my 07 turned down by corporate and dealership because it expired for me in 2017.

My grandson's 2006 IS 350 (Nov 30, 2005) had the dash and all door panels replaced on Feb 2018 by Lexus.
