Seafoam or CRC cleaning?
I’m researching about seafoam or crc cleaning, but I don’t know which I should choose. So I want your guys opinions. I don’t know what’s the optimal place to inject the cleaner at. I’m looking at videos where one is inject through the throttle body, and one is through the intake manifold.
Let me know of your past experiences, I just want the best placement to clean all the gunk out of this 161k mile engine.

If you inject the cleaner through the throttle body, you will clean the throttle plate. If you do the intake manifold, the throttle body will remain dirty. Do you want to clean the throttle body? I would.
Either brand of cleaner will do the job, although I have a preference for Seafoam.

The intake manifold gets the air through the throttle body. So if you inject the cleaner into the throttle body, it goes into the intake manifold. FYI, from the intake manifold, the cleaner will go into the cylinders.

I have not had to do this yet on my 2IS yet as it has low miles, is running really well, and is fairly clean. But if you want to clean the carbon on the valves, which is the biggest issue in these engines, you should spray CRC/Seafoam into the vacuum tube that feeds onto the valves. That is what I did on my old Trailblazer with the inline 6. You can clean the throttle body too if it needs it (most likely) but you should be careful with the intake and make sure you get any cleaner on the Mass Air Flow sensor, they are very sensitive to any residue.
