I'm currently installing vland headlights on my is250. There seems to be an additional small white cable coming out of them which I'm not sure where to connect to.

Today I've connected the lights. Tomorrow I'll put everything back together. I've tested the lights and they work beautifully.

Problems I'm experiencing so far:

• 5mm gap between passenger side headlight and chassis even though all three bolts are tightened.
• Getting the flashing AFS light even though I've removed the 7.5A AFS fuse.
• The cable going into fuse box doesn't fit snug and prevents the box from closing (may have to drill a hole in the box).

Any advice on these issues is appreciated.

I'll post all the pictures I've taken tomorrow once I complete the job.

 

i didnt have any gap after install.
are you sure you removed the right fuse? my AFS light went off as soon as i pulled the fuse.
The cable, i was able to close the fuse box with a little pressure without drilling a hole.

 

So I completed the job today. Not too happy with the end result if I'm honest because I ended up with some gaps. Tried removing and refitting but still. They're all bolted in and I just stuffed some rubber in the gaps to prevent water ingress.

Managed to sort the AFS light out. The fuse was actually under the passenger left side (UK) rather than under the steering wheel.

Drilled hole in side of engine fuse box to pass the cable through and sealed it with tape in and out.

Now I have an error on my nav unit stating "a program cannot be read please consult to a dealer" which I'll have to figure out.

New error. Reinserted original dvd many times but it keeps spitting it back out.

Yup the unfortunate thing is that because you know where the gaps are, you will always notice it. But really the other folks looking and ogling at your headlamps, will never see the gaps. I would love to have a set, waiting for the timing and the price to go down a bit. Looks good!

 

Yeah I guess your right. The gaps really aren't that noticeable. I've cut some bike tyre tube and filled them all anyway.

 

I would as a precaution apply a bead of silicone on the top (where the clear lens and the black housing meet) so you can avoid the water going into the assembly and create condensation.

 

Hi, how to get rid of the AFS error?

 

When I installed them on my 350, I didn't notice any gaps. I ended up filing down a portion of the fuse box lid so that the wire will go right through. The afs light went out when i pulled the fuse. As far as the radio concern, have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while. That may reset the system and it might start working again. I had a loose connection one time and when I got it reconnected my radio had done a hard reset and needed to completely reboot its programming.
