Any options on where to get Lifetime transmission fluid/filter changed?
I have an 07 250 with 94k miles on it with the original transmission fluid in it. While I was getting it serviced at the dealership, I asked if it was possible to get the fluid and filter replaced, and the technicians insisted to me that they do not replace the lifetime fluid in the transmission and Lexus doesn't have and service instructions or recommends for replacing it. I was wondering if there is a reputable shop in the DMV area that I can get this done at? Filter and fluid? Unfortunately, I do not have the time, space, or tools to do it myself. The fluid hasn't been changed, and I plan to run this car into the ground, so I would like to get this done so it preserves my transmission in the long run. Thanks.

The dealer told me there was no "official" recommendation to change it, but they could do it. He recommended just a drain and fill and not a full flush. I don't remember how much it was but it wasn't too expensive since I ended up doing it.

Thanks for all the insight and tips. I decided to go with a drain and fill at another dealer instead of a full flush and interval drain and fill every 15k miles based on what some other threads on here advised. Seems like the safest bet upon realizing that fully flushing it is a 50/50 chance that it either works or makes things worse that were not broken in the first place since I don't currently have any shifting/transmission issues anyway.

Here it is. I would say this as easy as changing an engine oil. In my opinion even easier as you don't have to deal with a nasty oil filter. If your transmission pan is leaking and wet on the outside it makes sense to change the filter and put new seal, if it's dry I wouldn't bother. For this procedure I used new washers and gaskets from the dealer. I ran clear tube with funnel down the engine bay and simply used gravity to fill it with the fresh fluid. To measure the fluid temp Scangauge 2 was used.

The book calls for filter fluid change at 120,000
Miles.
Now just maybe they felt you didn't need the service because your milage was low?

Here is a DIY link for those interested. The process in the link will minimize mixing compared to simply pulling the drain plug but takes longer. Follow the process and get 1/2 the fluid in one dump vs eternally mixing and diluting it.
