2012 IS250 F-Sport Headlight bulbs LED ? (6k temp color)
Im wondering can i change the HID's bulbs to LED's ?
the stock HID's seen to be in the 4k temp range I'm wanting them in the 6k range (white maybe a lil blueish).
( 1 ) can this be done by just changing bulbs ?
( 2 ) recommendation of with bulbs to get .. ( HID or LED )

Hi mate,
I would say it would be tough, if not almost impossible to find an LED bulb that is compatible with the OEM HID system.
I find 6000k bulbs to be a bit harsh to my eyes so I bought 5500k d4s DMEX bulbs (who also sell 6000k versions) from China and found them to be great. I have also read a lot of clublexus members preferred that of Garax.
i have tried many HID bulbs (Osram CBIs, CBBs, Phillips ultinons) none of which have matched the LED color unfortunately. But 5500k seems to be the closest to my eyes.
Hope this remotely helps you.

Hi mate,
Low beam
Stick to HID D4S bulbs as you won't be able to find anything else that will fit/that will perform as well. Colour temperature is complicated as it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer but a key note to take is that the higher the Kelvin, the less bright the bulb is (generally speaking).
As a general guide:
4300K - OEM color (the yellow you see)
5500K - Pure white and the most popular color temperature
6000K - White with blue tint (probably what you're after).
I am in Australia so I don't have the same vast source of HID bulb retailers as you do but I know Lightwerkz and Theretrofitsource are reputable retailers who are very active in the headlight retrofit scene. As for Garax bulbs I am not sure who distributes them in America.
Foglights
This is up to you as you can put in HID or LED in there and foglights are not subject to stringent rules as headlights are with respect to glare etc etc.
To quickly answer your question:
If you want a nice colour: LED
If you want more light: HID (this comes down to the fact that HID can produce light in all directions whereas LED's light source is limited to where ever the diode is pointing).
I would personally use LED's as the reflector bowls in the fog lights were not made to withstand the UV emissions of a HID bulb (this is how a reflector dies). I don't really know, but I have a feeling LED produces less UV.
Happy to clarify if you have follow up questions

So I have a 2014 is250 base model and the headlight that I have, haven’t seen anyone do a light bulb replacement on and for the life of me I can’t find where the bulb is located. It’s a dual projector but doesn’t have that metal plate that everyone else is seeing. I need some help. And that’s what the back of my headlight looks like. Thanks for the help in advance!!
